DRAW YOUR OWN PATH

at Madrid Academy of Art
Your artistic style is as original as you. Maybe to discover it, you need to embark on your own and special learning journey.

Hello, future artist!

The first thing you should know is that we are not going to ask you to take an entrance exam or have a bunch of degrees hanging on the wall.

What really matters to us is your passion for art and your commitment to growing as an artist.

So, how does all this work? Well, here's the exciting part:

1. Entrance Interview: There are no exams or previous requirements, but we want to get to know you. We'll sit down with you (virtually or in person) and chat about your dreams, your goals, and what motivates you in the world of art. We want to know you better than your best friend, understand your level of responsibility and commitment. Don't worry, it's not an interrogation; it's more like a chat to make sure we know you better than an influencer knows their Instagram filters.

2. Customized Program: Based on your current level, your preferences, and your goals (and everything we've learned about you during the interview), we'll design a tailor-made program just for you.

To make this clear, let me give you an example:

Imagine that you start with an intermediate level (you've learned a bit on your own and maybe you've taken some workshops or online courses), and your main influences are contemporary artists who work with expressive painting full of metaphors and symbols. Your main problem is that the proportions don't work, everything seems disconnected, it doesn't work, it's very flat... At this moment, your goal (which can change, in fact, it probably will change) is to paint compositions from your imagination, where dream, reality, and fantasy blend, where stories filled with emotion and meaning are told. Great! We love your vision!!

So, here's what we'll do: We'll start by strengthening your basic drawing and painting skills, making sure you have a solid foundation to build upon. We'll work especially from the constructive method to achieve drawing from imagination, which is what you want. When you're ready, we'll start working on anatomy and perspective (we need to create a story, with characters, in an environment, and that requires both), and we have to make it interesting, here's where composition comes into play. We'll analyze different artists, their techniques, and methods, to understand how to create interesting compositions with expressive painting full of metaphors and symbols.

Next, we'll work together on creating your own compositions, blending dream, reality, and fantasy. We'll guide you every step of the way, from conceptualization to execution, making sure you're on the right track to tell your unique stories.

But wait, there's more. We know that art isn't a straight line, and your goals may change. So we'll be there, ready to adapt and redesign your program if necessary. Imagine having a personal trainer, but for your art. Someone who knows you, understands your dreams, and is willing to go that extra mile with you.

In summary, your personalized program at the Madrid Academy of Art is not one-size-fits-all. It's a tailor-made suit, sewn with threads of creativity, passion, and commitment, designed to fit your vision perfectly. And we're excited to start this journey with you.

This is just an example.
I really don't know where you are, what you've done, what problems you have, who you really are, and what your dream is.
But we can find out together. Schedule your interview here

3. Reservation of Spot: If everything has gone well during the interview and we see that you're going to give it your all in the program, that is, if you've passed the interview and have been accepted, we'll send you a proposal for the program with all the information you need, start and end dates, academic calendar... as well as the payment schedule. Depending on the program you've chosen, the reservation fee may vary from €30 to €345. Once you've made the reservation, your place at MAA will be secured. The reservation fee will be deducted from the cost of the program. Payments for the programs are mostly quarterly (except for the one-month and one-week programs).

Example: Imagine that you've been accepted (we'll tell you during the interview) and that you're going to do a program from Monday to Wednesday in the morning from 11 am to 2 pm (because you work the rest of the time, because you only want to work with a model, because it's what your budget allows...).

The program will cost you €265 per month (€795 per quarter), and instead of starting at the beginning of the quarter, you start in the middle (because you were on vacation before, because you didn't know us, because you were working...). That is, deducting the days you couldn't attend (half), the total for your program would be €398.

You could make a reservation of €30 and pay the rest (€368) before starting the program (we would send you the dates by email), or if you prefer, pay it all together. Payments can be made by bank transfer or with a credit card (bank commission applies).

Yes, you read that right, you choose the hours and days you want to work, whether you want to work always with a model, without a model, or 50/50.

And if you can't attend a class because of a work meeting, because you have a party, because you're going on vacation...? Just let us know in advance (24 hours is fine), and you can make up the class during the term.

And if now, instead of going to school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, you want to go on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays? Let us know in advance, and we'll see if there are spots available to make the change for you.

And if you have more questions? We've created a Frequently Asked Questions section, or if you prefer, we can chat via WhatsApp or phone at +34 679 49 29 15.
